French homeschooling families have experienced major changes in their lives since a law was introduced in 2021 stating all children must go to school from the age of three. The right to freely choose to home educate in France has not changed, however, the local and regional government councils have randomly applied different regulations based on law in homeschooling applications and as a result a huge number of rejections has caused a lot of damage in many homeschooling households.

National and international laws about parental rights and childrens’ rights have been ignored, says the collective group of IEF families.

The IEF Power collective has written a well documented extensive file (88 pages) about the situation in France.
